Brazil is the biggest exporter of Indian breeds of cows. Gir cow now records over 62 litres/day in Brazil...

This majestic cow is from Brazil. Belonging to the Gir breed of Gujarat, this cow -- named She-ra -- clocked 62.033 litres of milk in a 3-day milk competition at the 40th Expaja in Brazil, beating her own record of 59.947 litres. While Indian cattle breeds are doing exceptionally fine abroad, the fascination of our own policy makers for exotic breeds seems to be never ending. Meanwhile, Brazil has emerged as the biggest exporter of Indian breeds of cows.

Recently  "newspapers in Punjab reported that an American company -- World Wide Sires Ltd -- is planning to provide high quality semen to dairy farmers. Some days back,  the Kerala minister for Animal Husbandry was thinking of importing some improved cattle breeds from Denmark for cross breeding with local cows."

A few weeks back, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal announced the setting up of an advanced institute for dairy farming in Mohali. This will be a joint collaboration with an Israeli firm -- Dairy Farming Solutions -- and will impart latest technology to farmers to improve the milch cattle Punjab to have advanced institute of dairy farming.

Not only in Brazil, Indian cattle breeds have also been improved upon in the United States and Australia. In the US, the breed is called Brahman. Recently, after a study visit to Malaysia, Sagari Ramdas, the co-director of Anthra in Andhra Pradesh, wrote in the Down to Earth magazine: "On our visit to Malaysia, we were intrigued when we came across a cattle breed, which the farmers kept referring to as “the Brahman”. This was a complete mystery to us. Which Brahman came to Malaysia and named these cattle the Brahman?"

Not to mention that the Jamunapari goat also featured in the poster as a goat breed of the country. This intrigued us even further, but none of the veterinary officers could explain how the Nellore from Andhra Pradesh and the Jamunapari from Uttar Pradesh happened to figure in a poster on the breeds of Malaysia."
She came back and researched. "Brahman breed is a product of biopiracy of severalIndian breeds, which occurred over 100 years ago, when India was a colony of the British Empire, when “pirates” of today’s “Empire”—and modern day “Brahman”, the US—spirited out a nucleus of approximately 266 bulls and 22 females of several Bos indicus (Indian cattle), imported them to the US between 1854 and 1926, and developed the breed.

According to the literature, the Brahman is the progeny of four Indian cattle breeds: the Kankrej and Gir from Gujarat, the Ongole (earlier known as the Nellore) from Andhra Pradesh, with the fourth breed being the “Gujarat”. But no such breed exists in the list of Indian cattle breeds.

The Brahman has become the most popular beef cattle breed in the southern parts of the US and in South America, Asia, and Australia because of its excellent adaptability to sub-tropical climates and its production abilities.
Brahman-type cattle were, in fact, imported to Australia from the US, and today the Australian Brahman is the mainstay of the northern beef industry of Australia. The Brahman in Malaysia has primarily been imported from Australia, which has a virtual monopoly in exporting the breed to several south-east Asian countries.  When will we begin to recognise our desi breeds of cows? Why is it that planners are averse to our own domestic breeds?

What is also little know is the fact that Indian cows and buffaloes produce a more nutritious milk than the exotic breeds like Jersey and Holstein-Friesian. A recent study by Karnal-based National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources (NBAGR) showed Indian cows have a rich A2 allele gene which helps them produce healthier milk. The frequency of this A2 allele in Indian breeds is 100 per cent whereas in exotic cattle breeds it is less than 60 per cent. Imported breeds posses A1 allele, which is considered to be associated with diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular diseases Indian Cow, Buffalo breeds give healthier milk. Why do we want the future generations to be sick with lifestyle diseases?

Modi supporters around the World write to Time against the poll hacking

The supporters of Narendra Modi have petitioned the Time magazine at the manner how their poll was hacked to pull Narendra Modi down, who was leading with the maximum positive vote and maximum margin around 24 hours before closing the poll and within the last 24 hour, the poll was apparently hacked by hackers who voted in favour of Anonymous (a name symbolising anonymous hackers) and Eric Martin (the closest contender of Modi), and Imran Khan, and against Narendra Modi. The ‘likes’ and Tweets on the poll and the answer make it crystal clear. Erik Martin garnered a thousand ‘likes’, Anonymous did a shade better with 2000 but Narendra Modi was comfortably placed with 96,000. It is fairly obvious that hacking scripts and not human voting determined the outcome in the last few hours.

The Indian American Intellectuals Forum has written to the Editor of the prestigious magazine demanding that the poll by declared null and void and Anonymous and Eric Martin be disqualified. The letter is published verbatim below.

Sub:   Declare the 2012 Time 100 Poll  as null and void and Disqualify Anonymous and Erik Martin from the Number One and Number Two positions

Sir:
We are stunned and appalled at the manner in which your website on the 2012 Time 100 Poll was rigged and hacked by Anonymous and Erik Martin under your nose.  Your staff seems to have stood mute.  According to the final results, Anonymous secured 395,793, Erik Martin 264,193 and Narendra Modi 256,792 yes votes.

As reported by Mashable “Anonymous has been accumulating around 14,000 votes per hour, jumping from approximately 40,000 votes bymidday Thursday to more than 380,000 votes by midday Friday!.”

The manner in which these two groups rigged and manipulated the results to their advantage is a matter of great disgrace not only to the reputation of the Time Magazine but also to the civil society which wanted to exercise its rights in accordance with the rules laid down by your esteemed Magazine.

These two groups have made a mockery of The Time Polls 2012.  They have tarnished your credibility, brought ignominy to your standing, and made your august magazine a laughing stock in the eyes of the world at large and your loyal customers.

People are saying these Polls are unfair and unjustified.  They smack of hoax, scam and deception.

A fraud of colossal magnitude has been perpetrated on the credulous masses who believe in fair play and justice.  We feel badly mauled and cheated.  If this issue is not settled in an equitable manner, we would be compelled to urge 1.3 billion Indians all over the world to boycott Time.

We request you to thoroughly investigate this matter.   We will also appreciate it very much if you will declare the 2012 Time Poll as null and void and disqualify the above two entities from number one and two positions for brazen violation of your contest rules and those of universal fair play.

While concerned Indians across the world have written to Time, mainstream Indian media, which takes sadistic pride in putting Narendra Modi down, even if he's representing India on an International platform, made it a headline that Narendra Modi polled maximum negative vote, thereby performing its 'religious duty' of exhibiting its rabid bias against the Gujarat Chief Minister.

The Citizens of Greater Pakistan...?

This Saturday, 11th of August, 2012, will go down in Mumbai’s, and India’s history as a day of shame and ignominy. On this day, nearly 50000 muslim ‘protesters’, many of them armed with metal rods and sticks, went on a rampage in Mumbai torching buses and cars and media and police vehicles. Only that, Mumbai Police commissioner already had enough intelligence input that this could happen, as calls were made to muslims in Friday Namaaz to gather in large numbers at the Azad maidan on Saturday to protest against the ‘atrocities against lakhs of muslims’ in Burma and Assam. Mass SMSing was also done to move muslims, the SMS content being completely out-of-sync with the facts and meant to instigate them.

It’s nobody’s case how composed muslims as a community are to verify the facts. On a cartoon published in Denmark, they would get violent in India, so this time, when actually muslims were also among the sufferers, their being illegal foreign immigrants notwithstanding, it was not surprising. The fact that Mumbai’s muslims’ blood boiled not for their own countrymen Bodos, lakhs of whom have been living in refugee camps after thousands of their villages were burnt, but for illegal Bangladeshis, is also understandable, as Islam allows only one dichotomy, muslims and non-muslims. So, that’s not surprising. That calls were made in Friday namaaz, is not surprising either. Even when Godhra train was burnt, from the Godhra mosque, slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Hindustan Murdabad’ were shouted, and the judge of Gujarat High Court, Justice P R Patel had noted that in his judgment while convicting Godhra’s murderers.

What makes it distinctly ignoble, is the fact, that despite having information that this could happen, even when this was happening, when the mob was rioting, the police didn’t have the political permission to act against them. The rioters were throwing stones at policemen, molesting women police officers, and police had their hands tied to the will of their political masters. Eventually, the policemen fired killing 2 rioters, but nearly 50 policemen had suffered injuries and public property worth of crores had been destroyed.

So much for the appeasement!

Now, let’s turn back our clock 91 years to 1921.
Moplah killings. After the failure of the Khilafat movement, Mopla muslims massacred over 5000 Hindus in Kerala’s now Malabar district. Annie Besant, the great freedom fighter described it as, "They murdered and plundered abundantly, and killed or drove away all Hindus who would not apostatize. Somewhere about a lakh of people were driven from their homes with nothing but the clothes they had on, stripped of everything. Malabar has taught us what Islamic rule still means, and we do not want to see another specimen of the Khilafat Raj in India."

But what did Congress leadership, (Gandhi) say? He said that they were brave and religious warriors fighting for their religion! Of course, supporting the fundamentalist muslims’ cause, the Khilafat Movement was Gandhi’s brainchild to get muslims into freedom struggle. The first classic case of minority appeasement which sowed the seeds of partition and all that followed.

Fast forward to 7th November, 1966, from M K Gandhi, to Indira Gandhi. The then Prime Minister of India ordered the police to fire on peacefully protesting unarmed Hindu sages, women and children who were demanding a bill against cow-slaughter, killing numerous sadhus in the process.

Sounds familiar? Cut to 4th/5th June, 2011. Ramlila Ground, Delhi. From Indira to Sonia.
Delhi police, succumbing to the will of their political masters (read, Sonia Gandhi), lathicharges sleeping protesters, many of them women and children, who had fasted all day, in the process injuring many and resulting in the death of an elderly lady, Rajbala.

These incidents are there to highlight how the Indian state deals with protesters depending on if they are peacefully agitating Hindus or rioting rampaging muslims.

And that’s not all.

Can we ask why Jama Masjid’s Imam Bukhari is not under Police arrest despite the court having issued non-bailable warrant against him, twice? How much time did the police take to arrest Acharya Balkrishna on a case that looks motivated even to a naïve observer?

Can we ask why the Delhi government and MCD allow muslim miscreants to build a mosque illegally at the Subhash park, which is a public property, just on their whim that the wall that was found in Delhi Metro’s excavation belonged to a mosque? To expand IGI airport, functional temples are removed. Hindus don’t mind for nation’s development takes precedence over their religion for them. And, after finding a wall in the ground, Delhi Metro’s route is altered so that muslim miscreants can raise a mosque there!

Maharashtra’s MLAs are suspended from the assembly for saying Ganpati Bappa Moraya in the assembly, but Owaisi openly threatens of rioting (which actually happened just days later) in the parliament and no action happens against him. Can we ask why?

Can we ask why only Muslim girls are entitled to Akhilesh Yadav’s new scheme giving them 30000 Rs. Or can we ask why Mamta Banerjee is paying salary only to Imam’s of mosques from public money, and not to Hindu pontiffs and priests?

This is not some muslim organisations doing it, it is the secular Congress and its allies’ governments doing it, and we just saw, since the time of M K Gandhi.

Well, there’s a simple answer.

India is being ruled as if it were a part of a ‘Greater Pakistan’, where Hindus’ life, respect and dignity has no value, and muslims call the shots. It’s the sacred duty of Congress governments to appease them to the fullest, howsoever, anti-national the cause be.

That is what the submissive majority of this nation has been reduced to, in effect, the helpless Hindus of ‘Greater Pakistan’ which was once, Bhaarat. Time to stand up, and change it, forever.
 

Ahmedabad rising at the moment

Sabarmati Riverfront to get a walkway, new water rides!

                         
Speaking on the occasion Shri Modi said that while location of this dedicating ceremony is Ahmedabad, the walkway is dedicated to India, because it is the first such project initiated in entire India.
                                                    Shri Modi appealed the citizens to maintain cleanliness and use the new location in disciplined manner. He gave example of Kankaria lake front where following his appeal, in last five years, not a single public facility has faced damage. Modi asked people to keep Sabarmati river front more clean than own house.

“The Prime Minister, in his address, said there is a need to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and also focus on industrialisation for employment generation in the country. He spoke about the need to strengthen infrastructure, but state Congress leaders say just the opposite of it.

“The state Congress leaders were seen on TV saying they don’t need roads, industries, educational institutions, hospitals, universities, and that just half a chapati would suffice for them,” Modi said, implying the party leaders were criticising the BJP Government’s policies aimed at attracting FDI and setting up industries.

As the crowd burst into laughter, Modi said “Congress aims to take you back to the 18th Century. Would you like to go to the 18th Century rule?”

Here is some more news that will bring cheer to the faces of people of Ahmedabad!

On Wednesday, 15th August 2012 Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi dedicated to the people a walk way and rides at the Sabarmati Riverfront.

The walkway is 7km long on the western side and 6 km long on the eastern side.

The AMC has planned to launch ferry service between Vadaj Dadhichi Rushi over bridge to Vasna river bridge. A dream run will be held for runners on the riverfront walkway between Vallabh Sadan and Vasna Barrage and back. The AMC has hosted a grand musical event as well.

Giving a major impetus to tourism in Ahmedabad and particularly the Sabarmati River Front Project, 25 rides will be launched on 15th August at the auspicious hands of Shri Narendra Modi.

In the near future, an amphibious bus service that can be operated on land as well as water will be operational.
The Sabarmati River is the lifeline of Ahmedabad and has always been central to the identity of this booming city. Till a decade ago, however the Sabarmati River running through Ahmedabad resembled a stretch barren land where children played cricket and circuses were occasionally held.

                         The vision to re-develop the Sabarmati riverfront assumed importance ever since Shri Narendra Modi assumed office in 2001. Today, the Sabarmati Riverfront has become an important cultural landmark on the map of Ahmedabad. From shops, informal markets to hosting International Kite Festivals, its all happening on the banks of the Sabarmati!

अखण्ड भारत दर्शन 

Yugachethana a youth organisation in Kochi (Ernakulam district, Kerala), did a unique program named "Akhand Bharat Darshan" yesterday (14th August 2012). A big map of Akhand Bharat was drawn on the floor and 32 sacred places were marked and students placed "deepam" on each places.

A brief description about the History and importance of each sacred places was also given. More than a hundred students participated in the function. Bharatmata Pooja was also conducted.They also celebrated Independence day by doing a poster campaign in T.D.High School,Mattancherry today during the school's Independence day celebrations.
